About the Lane Family
Brian has been involved with cattle his entire life, he grew up on a mixed farm just south of Claresholm. His parents grew crops and raised cattle. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and have been involved with cattle, we always knew that this is what we wanted to do for a living. We have seen many changes and challenging times already in our years of marriage but I do believe that it’s these things that can make you stronger, I never said it was easy but nothing worth having is easily come by. We’ve realized of late what faith really is and have learned to not to take anything for granted.
We are a family run operation. Even our children get into the action. Our family is young but the boys are becoming more and more helpful all the time. The boys stay busy with their home raised 4H projects and school and the girls are busy with school and their little chores too. The boys both have steers this year and we are in the process of halter breaking right now. We’re looking forward to another good year. The club has been very good for us all, there’s always lots to learn.
We don’t hire outside help so from calving to weaning it’s a “family affair”!! We have great neighbors who lend a hand from time to time, we’ve been blessed with a good community to live in. We love having our family close and are thankful to be here with our cows and kids! We put many of the same values into our cattle operation that we instill into our daily lives as a family. Honesty and hard work are a must in this household. Honest, hard-working cattle are a must as well, not only for us but for our customers too. We have not only the pure-bred rancher but the commercial rancher in mind as well in our breeding program.
